What are the responsibilities and job description for the Carpenter position at Key Construction?
Key Construction is currently seeking Carpenters for its Wichita Location. Applicant must be able to cut, fabricate, and install wooden and other structures according to specifications. The ideal candidate will have good knowledge of wood properties and other carpentry materials. The job entails working in diverse setting to produce steady and functional infrastructure and products while contributing to the construction and maintenance of strong and long-lasting buildings and products.
Essential Functions Include:
- Follow blueprints and building plans to meet the needs of clients
- Install structures and fixtures, such as windows and molding
- Measure, cut, or shape wood, plastic, fiberglass, drywall, and other materials
- Construct building frameworks, including wall studs, floor joists, and doorframes
- Help put up, level, and install building framework with the aid of large pulleys and cranes
- Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures
- Instruct and direct laborers and other construction trade helpers
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Experience with large Retail, Hospitality, Multi-family, Critical Facilities, Light Industrial and/or Healthcare preferred.
- At least 3 years of carpentry experience in commercial construction
- Valid Driver’s License required.
