Elevator Superintendent - Grain

We are hiring an Elevator Superintendent in Story City, Iowa (10 miles north of Ames, IA).  In this role, you will be receiving grain, maintaining grain quality, blending and loading out grain to optimum specifications. You will also be maintaining elevator grounds, facilities, and equipment.

This role is for you if you have:

·         High school diploma or GED and/or experience in grain, maintenance, agriculture, farming, equipment operation, or other relatable experience.  

·         Valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a CDL with required endorsements.

·         Willingness to obtain a Pest Control Applicators License.

·         Ability to work longer hours during peak seasons.

·         An outstanding work ethic with ability to pay attention to the details.

·         Ability to always project a positive attitude to customers and employees while exhibiting good customer relations skills.

What you will be doing:

·         Leading efforts to maintain grain quality and handling. Keeping good grain condition, and monthly facility inspections, as by OSHA inspection standard. 

·         Assisting the Grain Operations Lead in coordinating grain movement between other Key locations and processors.

·         Monitoring grain inventory quality/condition and complete weekly inventory reports.

·         Coordinating and performing the dumping and receiving of producers' grain.

·         Bin grain by type and quality factors.

·         Blending and loading out grain as directed to meet contract grade and weight specifications.

·         Performing required preventative maintenance and have all preventive maintenance reports turned in on time.

·         Cleans up grain spills; lead efforts keeping all inside and outside work areas extremely neat and orderly.

·         Displaying reliable attendance and schedules time-off with advance notice.

·         Promoting the business with existing and potential customers.
