Staff Engineer

Key Environmental, Inc. is an established and innovative environmental consulting firm specializing in the investigation, remediation, and redevelopment of environmentally challenged properties, as well as shale gas, utility, and other types of land development projects across the U.S.

KEY’s expanding workload and client base have created an opportunity for a staff-level engineer in our Pittsburgh, PA, office. We are currently seeking an ambitious individual with a B.S. or M.S. in the following fields:

• Chemical Engineer
• Environmental Engineer
• Civil Engineer (or similar) with Geology/Geotechnical Emphasis
• Water Resource Engineer

Responsibilities:

The Staff-Level Engineer will work on a broad range of projects doing the following:

• Assist with design, engineering evaluations, project planning, permitting, and reporting activities;
• Provide technical oversight, reporting, and occasional management of contractors for environmental-related activities;
• Prepare technical reports that summarize data in a technically sound, clear, and precise manner;
• Assist with business development activities such as preparing qualifications, cost analyses, proposals, and presentation materials; and,
• Continually improve communication and technical skills with the goal of advancement.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

• Excellent computer skills with Excel, Word, technical analysis software, and other computer applications.
• Excellent writing and communication skills are required.
• Ability to work independently, as well as in a project team and multi-task environment.
• Experience with Civil 3D or GIS applications is a plus.
• Must hold a valid U.S. driver’s license, maintain a good driving record, and pass a background check.
• Must be willing and able to travel for projects as needed.
• 40-HR HAZWOPER training preferred.
