Job Summary : The sheetfed pressman will operate the 2015 Heidelberg Speedmaster Sheetfed Press to ensure the production of the highest quality product, meeting performance standards and customer specifications and delivery requirements while assuring personal safety and in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Responsible for the setup and operation of press equipment according to customer-supplied specifications while maintaining production by planning and organizing jobs and continuously monitoring quality.Read and understand a job ticket; Interpret layouts, ensure that correct paper / plastic is issued and determine ink to use.Responsible for press make-ready and set-up; determining the best sequence of colors.Achieve and monitor color for consistency.Completes necessary paperwork and records, including recording operations and inventory on the computer.Examines printed product for ink density, position on the stock, and registration and makes adjustments throughout production to maintain guide, registration, and color density.Inspect plates for visual defects.Mounts plates, blankets, and balances color.Maintains overall production and quality of jobs by operating the press according to standard operating procedures required for the press.Troubleshoots and perform minor adjustments and repairs, including removing and replacing worn rollers and adjusting pressure between rollers, using hand tools.Prepare materials for upcoming jobs by viewing the production schedule and conferring with the operator.Fills ink fountains of the press; mix ink, maintain ink at acceptable levels.Completes material usage report and substrate usage logbook and other necessary paperwork.Operates material handling equipment to move loads to the staging area for finishing.Wash up and keep the work area cleanWill need to lift 10-15 pounds continuously, and lift / roll / maneuver100 poundsMust use hands and wrists continuously in controlled movement, receive and follow instructions, and use vision to identify defects.Must be able to work overtime as mandated by production needs.Will work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines under pressure.Other duties may be assignedSkills :
Proven experience working as a pressmanSound knowledge of material requirementsMath skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of whole numbers and fractionsStrong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.Knowledge of production processes and quality controlExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with all levels of employeesAbility to work long hours, with overtime and holidays as required (OT paid over 40 hours per week).In-depth knowledge of the printing industryAble to work efficiently with minimal supervisionA High School graduate or equivalent preferredBenefits :
