Key Program is seeking Overnight Awake Shift Workers in Worcester, MA, for their residential program, serving up to nine adolescents referred by the MA Department of Children and Families (DCF). The Shift Worker is responsible for the welfare of the children/youth in Key’s residential programs during the overnight hours (11pm –8am). They monitor clients, perform bed checks, and implement safety and security procedures. Qualifications:
- College coursework and one year of relevant experience preferred
- High school diploma or equivalency required
And
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Valid state driver’s license and legally registered and insured car for work use
- Commitment to participate in required trainings and certifications in FA/CPR/AED, MA Medication Administration Program (MAP) and Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Crisis Intervention.
Responsibilities:
The Overnight Awake Shift Worker must share a schedule with their team, consisting of overnight shifts (11pm – 8am), and may include/ weekend shifts.
- Remains awake, alert, and security conscious at all times by sitting in an upright manner in a designated location determined by supervisors to visually monitor and hear client activity throughout the shift.
- performs and documents client bed checks every 15-minutes and program security checks at required intervals throughout the shift.
- engages clients and develops positive, appropriate, and supportive professional relationships utilizing a strength-based, client-centered approach.
- follows program safety and security policies including closely supervising clients; adhering to program procedure manual as a guide to maintain consistency and structure; conducting searches and security checklists; always remaining alert and security conscious.
- assists clients with their routines such as morning wake-up, meal preparation, school preparation, medication administration, room and program cleanup, transportation, etc.
- follows policies for providing timely notification of actual or suspected program incidents and completes accurate and timely associated documentation.
