Full-time, 10 Months, Faculty Exempt
Key School is seeking a full-time Middle School Humanities Teacher for the 2025-2026 academic year. Reporting to the Middle School Division Head, the successful candidate will teach two sections of Humanities (two preparations). In addition, this position includes advising a group of 12-14 students. This teacher would also offer a club or activity during half of the school year.
Job Responsibilities:
- Teach two sections of developmentally appropriate Middle School (grades 5 - 8) Humanities courses
- Collaborate with Humanities colleagues in the Middle School and other divisions
- Advise a group of 12-14 students as a homeroom teacher
- Sponsor a club or activity for half of the school year
- Supervise lunch and recess activities three times per week

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree; Masters degree preferred
- Two to three years of classroom teaching experience
- Two years of successful humanities teaching at the middle school level is strongly preferred

Key School follows a Faculty Equity Scale that recognizes direct years of experience that correlates to the steps on the scale. The salary range for this position is $46,820-$88,035 and is based upon several factors that include, but not limited to, the candidates years of work experience, education and skills. There are additional opportunities on campus for coaching and various stipends as well.
Technical Competencies:
The Middle School Humanities Teacher should be familiar with learning management systems such as Seesaw and Google Classroom and be able to create and deliver engaging multimedia content using various digital tools. Key is a Google Workspace for Education school. Candidates should be proficient in using Google applications, have a solid understanding of cloud-based storage and file-sharing platforms, and efficiently manage email and scheduling using Gmail and Google Calendar. They should be proficient in virtual communication tools such as Zoom or Google Meet and have basic troubleshooting skills to resolve common technical issues that may arise in the classroom.
Work Schedule/Travel:
Occasionally, business and school functions may require your presence to work flexible hours, including nights and/or weekends, and travel outside of Annapolis.
