Job Title : PLANT ELECTRICIAN
Location : SOUTH GATE, CA
Shift : MUST BE OPEN TO ANY SHIFT (must be open to OT)
Pay Range : $26.00 - $28.00 per hour
Description : The Electrician performs quick analysis, troubleshooting and repair of all electrical and electronic components associated in an industrial environment. Knowledge of Allen Bradley and Siemens PLCs (troubleshooting mostly), and proficient with AC variable speed drives and servo drives.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
Maintains safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations for maintenance department. Follows all safety policy and procedures including the use of personal protective equipment.
Diagnose and isolate production equipment malfunctions using schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and associated test equipment.
Work on combustion furnaces, which include troubleshooting differential pressure transmitters, thermocouples, RTD's, safety interlocks and burners.
Constructing new and modifying existing installations as per NEC. Installation, calibration, and repair of various instruments including pressure, flow, level, temperature, and position transducers.
Perform preventative maintenance and repairs when production equipment is down.
Assists other departments through planning and technical assistance.
Stays current on city and state electrical codes. Job Requirements
High School or equivalent plus five years' industrial work experience is preferred.
A Certified Electrician License in the State of California is necessary.
At least five years plant industrial electrician experience.
Troubleshooting knowledge of single phase and 3-phase electrical equipment.
Troubleshooting knowledge of PLC s. Knowledge of Variable Frequency Drives.
Ability to work independently and in a team with limited supervision.
Have full range of mobility in upper and lower body.
Be able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, and squatting for extended periods of time.
Be able to lift, pull and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks.
Be able to lift 50 pounds of weight frequently throughout assigned workday.
This position is subject to hot and cold temperatures and may require working outside of normal business hours.
Tolerance for repetitive work in a fast paced, highly productive work environment.
Salary : $26 - $28
