Keypath Education is supporting Rockhurst University’s search for a dual Assistant or Associate Nursing Professor and ABSN Program Director.
Rockhurst University, College of Nursing and Health Sciences is seeking experienced and motivated applicants for the Accelerated BSN Program Director position. The Accelerated BSN Program Director is a faculty member (rank determined by experience) who receives reassigned teaching time to focus on administrative responsibilities.
Job Description
Essential duties include classroom instruction, managing daily program operations, overseeing student advising and learning outcomes, and collaborating with college leadership and departments such as admissions, academic support, and financial aid to build a robust prospective student pool. The Program Director is responsible for reviewing and updating the curriculum, leading new program development, working with leadership to fulfill accreditation requirements, and assigning faculty to ensure a high-quality educational experience. Additionally, the Program Director actively participates in department and university-level service and professional associations. This person represents the nursing program in the community and works with collaborative partners from the local community to enhance the program’s visibility and reputation.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Instructional Duties: Conduct assigned instructional duties in accordance with the Faculty Handbook
- Program Leadership: Lead the ABSN program and collaborate with our program partner and clinical placement team, other program directors, chairs, Chief Nursing Administrator, associate deans, and dean
- Faculty Management: Oversee the recruitment, training, development, and management of full-time and adjunct/part-time faculty, adhering to Faculty Handbook guidelines and workload policies.
- Outreach and Recruitment: Partner with campus leadership to develop and implement an outreach plan that supports prospective student engagement, aligning with the strategic enrollment plan to grow the program
- Collaboration for Student Success: Work closely with academic advisors, admissions, financial aid, and student services staff to recruit and enroll qualified students
- Program Administration and Development: Lead program growth through curriculum oversight, new program initiatives, program assessment, student registration and advising, and fostering relationships within the community and campus
- Quality Improvement: Evaluate student learning outcomes and drive continuous improvement across the ABSN nursing program
- Accreditation and Compliance: Collaborate with leadership to meet accreditation requirements, manage required program documentation, and support compliance with accreditation and state regulatory standards
- University Initiatives: Support university-wide initiatives and ensure adherence to all relevant policies and procedures
Qualifications
- Teaching and Management Experience: At least two years of successful university-level teaching experience (including online education) and prior management experience in higher education or a related field
- Educational Qualifications: Minimum of a master’s degree in nursing from a regionally accredited university
- Professional Licensing: Active state nursing license
- Regulatory Knowledge: Ability to interpret and apply accreditation criteria and state agency regulations
- Problem-solving Skills: Skilled in resolving inquiries and complaints from faculty, students, and other stakeholders
- Communication Skills: Proficiency in presenting information to diverse audiences, including faculty, university leaders, and the public
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with computerized administrative systems and standard office software applications
