The ideal candidate will contribute to the academic and clinical excellence of university programs by engaging in highquality teaching research and / or service activities. The faculty member will contribute to strong student outcomes and program success by working collaboratively with colleagues and students to advance the field of speechlanguage pathology and communication sciences and disorders and preparing future practitioners.
Key Responsibilities :
Develop and deliver undergraduate and / or graduatelevel courses in speechlanguage pathology communication sciences and related areas.
Mentor and advise students in academic research and clinical practice areas.Supervise clinical practicum experiences and provide guidance in clinical decisionmaking.Contribute to curriculum development and program assessment efforts to ensure alignment with current best practices and accreditation standards.ServiceParticipate in departmental college and university committees and initiatives.
Contribute to community outreach programs and services related to speechlanguage pathology and communication sciences.Provide service to the profession through involvement in professional organizations and committees.Assist with student recruitment admissions and retention efforts.ResearchEngage in scholarly research activities in areas related to speechlanguage pathology communication disorders or related fields.
Pursue external funding to support research initiatives.Collaborate with faculty and students on interdisciplinary research projects.Publish findings in peerreviewed journals and develop proposals for relevant national and international conferences.Qualifications : Required :
Earned doctorate (Ph.D. or Ed.D. in SpeechLanguage Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders or a closely related field.Certificate of Clinical Competence in SpeechLanguage Pathology (CCCSLP) from the American SpeechLanguageHearingAssociation (ASHA)Eligibility for state licensure in SpeechLanguage Pathology (state requirement will vary)Evidence of effective teaching and student mentorship in a higher education setting.A record of scholarly research and publication in relevant areas.Preferred :
Prior experience in academic teaching in postsecondary setting especially online and hybrid teaching modalitiesExpertise in specific areas such as pediatric speech and language disorders adult neurogenic communication disorders voice disorders or augmentative and alternative communication (AAC)Experience with program accreditation processes such as CAA accreditationExperience in supporting diversity equity inclusion access and belonging initiativesScholarly record and a history of securing external funding for researchApplication process :
