About the Position: Manager of Hauling Operations - Towanda
SUMMARY:
As the Manager of Hauling Operations – Towanda you will be responsible for assisting the Director of Hauling Operations with all aspects of managing the water hauling operations for the Towanda and Williamsport yards including but not limited to: customer management, driver oversight, dispatch, operational efficiencies, truck maintenance and repair, oversight of the mechanics, adherence to operational and safety policies and DOT compliance.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Overseeing the daily operations of the hauling company and its various components, ensuring compliance with company, local, state and federal policies and regulations
- Overseeing the supervision of personnel including work allocation, training, and problem resolution; evaluating performance and making recommendations for personnel actions; motivating employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.
- Providing advice and assistance to top management in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of modifications to existing operations, systems, and procedures
- Oversee the maintenance and procurement of water hauling bottle trucks to ensure reliability and compliance with safety standards.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess operational efficiency, safety performance, and cost-effectiveness.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of transportation professionals, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Respond to and manage transportation-related emergencies and incidents, ensuring prompt resolution and mitigation of impact.
- Performing other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5 Years water hauling management experience
- In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local transportation and environmental regulations
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with a demonstrated ability to motivate and develop staff
- Versed in Microsoft Office products
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
- Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures
- Employee development and performance management skills
- Ability to supervise and train employees including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Commitment to safety, compliance, and continuous improvement
- Ability to travel to various operational locations
- Capability to work in a dynamic and sometimes high-pressure environment
- CDL license preferred, but not required
