JOB DESCRIPTION
Pre Construction Manager
JOB OBJECTIVE:
Responsible for managing projects during pre-construction phase, and prior to NTP. This will include reconciling the estimates, managing and developing schedules, managing permitting and engineering. The construction project manager’s responsibilities span a broad spectrum, covering all the areas of project management like - Project Planning, Cost Estimating, and Contract Set up. In addition, the job offers the following areas of responsibility: civil design development and oversight, civil closeout assistance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform a key role in project planning, budgeting, and identification of resources needed.
- Manage the project from early development to a construction state.
- Provide and generate schedules for projects in preparation for construction.
- Provide Civil Estimating support.
- Identify long lead time items, and variables to delivery success.
- Manage periodic calls with clients in advance of construction.
- Assist with updating the final estimate following development.
- Coordinate the efforts of all parties involved in the project prior to construction.
- Utilize Procore to help set up and manage projects.
- Attend public meetings to help facilitate the approval of projects.
- Work with the permitting coordinator to ensure timely permitting is achieved.
- Ensure tasks are managed timely to minimize delays in the schedule.
- Assist with closing out civil permits as needed.
- Assist with civil estimating as requested.
- Oversee and managed civil design and approvals.
RELATIONSHIPS AND ROLES:
Internal / External Cooperation
- Participate and lead a Project Kickoff Meeting to chart out the project objectives and plans, setting performance requirements and selecting project participants.
- Work directly with subcontractors to collect quotes and execute subcontractor contracts.
- Attending regular training sessions and meetings at corporate headquarters.
- Demonstrate ability to interact and cooperate with all company employees.
- Collaborate with the sales/ estimating team as needed.
JOB SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in construction projects.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Thorough understanding of Civil Design.
- Project Management experience.
QUALITATIVE AND OTHER ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:
- Ability to learn Solar PV and its unique details.
- Client Management ability.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Effective time management and logical decision-making ability.
- Capacity to handle pressure.
- Willingness to travel as needed to review plans.
- Ability to use Procore or learn to use Procore.
- Attnetion to detail.
- Strong Communication skills.
- Capability to use Microsoft suite including Excel and MS Project.
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree/ Expertise in construction management/ engineering.
- OSHA Training (30 hour)
- NABCEP Training (Optional)
