What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wellness Supervisor/LPN position at Keystone Commons?
Primary Purpose and Job Function: The Health and Wellness (LPN) Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the general well-being of residents through the delivery of high quality services in a manner that is consistent with the assisted living philosophy and that complies with applicable state laws and regulations. The LPN is also responsible for assisting the Director of Health and Wellness in overseeing the activities of the Care Managers and assisting with the Self-Administered Medication Management (SAMM) and Limited Medication Administration (LMA) programs in compliance with the regulations set forth by the Executive Office of Elder Affairs (EOEA).
Qualifications and Specifications:
- Must have excellent skills in both verbal and written communication.
- Must be team oriented and possess the ability to work well with others.
- Must possess the ability to work flexible hours and participate in occasional special events.
- Must possess the basic ability to utilize technology including a computer, telephone and fax machine.
- Must maintain current LPN licensure.
- Must abide by the Keystone Commons dress code, including wearing a name tag at all times.
- Required to participate in the Wellness Supervisor on-call rotation including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Education/Experience: Must possess a high degree of interpersonal skills and the capability of relating to a variety of people and personalities. Considerable initiative, judgement and leadership skills are also imperative. Must have the demonstrated ability to hire, direct and manage personnel and possess strong organizational and time-management skills. Previous experience in assisted living is preferred.
Physical Demands: Good physical and mental health to maintain the ability to perform high levels of physical activity for extended periods of time. Must be able to life/push up to 50 pounds multiple times during a shift. Physical dexterity required in lifting, pulling, pushing, carrying, stretching, moving, bending and stooping. May sit or stand for extended periods of time.
Working Conditions: On occasion, may be exposed to verbally and physically abusive residents. Clean, well-lighted household environment. Will be constant activity and frequent interruptions. Exposure to body fluids, infection, odors, and behaviors or residents. Exposure to chemical/cleaning solutions.
Safety: Must utilize Universal Precautions when assisting residents and/or handling any body fluids. Must utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) according as necessary.
