Job Description
The selected candidate will be responsible for conducting and overseeing boundary, topographic, construction, and as-built surveys. They will utilize and maintain surveying instruments, including GPS units, total stations, levels, and data collectors. The successful candidate will prepare and certify survey maps, plats, legal descriptions, and other documents, ensuring compliance with Pennsylvania state laws and regulations.
Key responsibilities include performing complex calculations related to land boundaries, elevations, and other property features. The candidate will analyze survey data and prepare detailed reports and documentation. They will research land records, deeds, maps, and other legal documents to support survey projects. Additionally, they will resolve discrepancies between field data and existing records, adjusting surveys as necessary.
The candidate must ensure that all surveying activities adhere to local, state, and federal regulations, including the Pennsylvania Professional Land Surveyor Law. If required, they will provide expert testimony in legal cases involving property boundaries. The successful candidate will communicate with clients, contractors, and government agencies to address survey-related inquiries and provide project updates. They will represent the company in meetings with clients, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
