HVAC/Mechanical Residential Designer (On-site)

We are seeking an HVAC and Mechanical Residential Designer to join our growing Internal Operations Team! We are looking for a HVAC designer with a passion to learn and grow into an established company. This position will work with our Design and Drafting team, Engineering Team, as well as our Purchasing team to create HVAC Designs for each home. It will include Traditional Duct Design, Mechanical unit sizing, Manual S and Manual J calculations. Ability and willingness to become a Rheia Certified designer is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create architectural pages in AutoCAD to allow our Design and Drafting team to integrate the HVAC designs into our permit documents.
• Coordinate designs with Permit requirements and production demands.
• Assist the purchasing team in creating a bill of materials and parts lists for each home.
• Build strong lasting relationships with existing HVAC trade partners.
• Assist in system size discussions and efficiencies which allow Estimating to buy the properly sized equipment for each home.
• Occasionally assist with field inspection & review of HVAC design vs reality in field.
  
  

Qualifications

• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well in teams
• Possess CAD skills and/or have 20/20 knowledge (necessary)
• Highly organized and detail oriented with strong follow-up skills
• Tech Savvy
• Prior HVAC and Mechanical design and industry experience is a must
