Job Responsibilities
The Switcher safely moves trailers to and from the warehouse dock to yard locations in a timely and professional manner with daily reports.
Key responsibilities include:
- Safely operating switcher trucks to move trailers within the facility.
- Coordinating with dispatch and yard personnel to prioritize trailer movements.
- Inspecting trailers for damage and reporting any issues to maintenance.
- Maneuvering trailers into loading docks for loading and unloading.
- Maintaining accurate records of trailer movements and locations.
- Communicating effectively with other drivers and yard personnel.
- Adhering to all safety protocols and traffic regulations.
- Assisting with yard organization and cleanliness as needed.
