Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate switcher trucks to move trailers within the facility.
- Maneuver trailers into loading docks for loading and unloading.
- Communicate effectively with other drivers and yard personnel.
Requirements
- Class A CDL.
- Safe driving record (MVR, CSA, and previous employment).
- Ability to pass DOT pre-employment drug screening and meet DOT medical requirements.
- Experience operating switcher trucks or similar equipment preferred.
- Familiarity with transportation and logistics operations.
Work Environment
This role requires continuous focus on driving and navigation, requiring high levels of concentration and situational awareness. Irregular hours may include early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and overnight trips. Work involves exposure to various weather conditions during loading and unloading operations.
Physical Demands
- Frequent use of hands and feet to operate vehicles, adjust controls, and manage equipment.
- Climbing into and out of the truck cab and trailer, as well as balancing to secure cargo.
