Local CDL A Drivers

Job Summary:

This job involves local deliveries. Drivers must be comfortable with city driving. Drivers are home daily, and qualifying drivers can receive safety bonuses. Freight consists of pallet deliveries with some drop-and-hook operations.

Shifts:

Day Shift: $27/hour

Night Shift: $30/hour

Job Description:

• Maintain on-time delivery to dedicated accounts.
• Conduct pre-trip/post-trip inspections before/after each load.
• Manage daily electronic logs.
• Operate Company-owned tractor-trailer trucks to facilitate freight transportation.
• Perform required user maintenance before-, during-, and after-operation, and provide necessary reports.
• Provide exceptional customer service during delivery and pickup operations.
• Maintain all required certifications by DOT, OSHA, and company safety programs.
• Ensure all property entrusted to the driver remains in excellent condition and is properly protected.
• Report accidents immediately.
• Notify dispatchers or managers of any delays.
• Perform other tasks assigned to support team operations.

Requirements:

• Class A Commercial Driver's License.
• A safe driving record, including MVR, CSA, and previous employment history.
• Ability to pass a DOT pre-employment drug screening and meet DOT medical requirements.
• A good stable work record.
• A current DOT physical examination.
• At least one year of Class-A driving experience or equivalent military experience.
• Be at least 23 years old.
• Thorough knowledge of traffic laws and defensive driving techniques.
• Ability to safely operate various vehicles.
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors, and the general public.
• Communicate effectively.
• Work independently.
• Maintain equipment in a safe manner at all times.

Physical Demands:

• Extended periods of sitting while operating vehicles.
• Frequent manual dexterity to operate vehicles, adjust controls, and manage equipment.
• Occasional heavy lifting, carrying, and securing of cargo exceeding 50 pounds.
• Continuous focus on driving and navigation, requiring high levels of concentration and situational awareness.
• Potential for irregular hours, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and overnight trips.
• Exposure to various weather conditions during loading and unloading operations.
• Climbing into and out of the truck cab and trailer, as well as balancing to secure cargo.
• Adherence to safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment as necessary.
