Job Description
Job Purpose
Under the supervision of the Auto Door Supervisor, the Auto Door Technician provides Automatic Door installation services on commercial job sites (new construction and tenant improvement) and repair services for open businesses. Serving multiple internal and external stakeholders on job sites of various sizes and types, the highly functioning Auto Door Technician will have and introductory knowledge of commercial glazing principles, a working knowledge of electrical wiring systems, and be actively working toward advanced AAADM certification. Excellent customer service and people skills are also required.

Essential Functions
Auto Door Technician (75%)
- Service, repair, install, and perform maintenance requests on commercial auto-doors, including electrical, mechanical, and electronic components.
- Maintain knowledge, skills, and abilities, as verified by AAADM Certification requirements, and keep up to date on best practices in the field of knowledge.
Glazier (25%)
- Understand basic construction principals that are sufficient to:
- Use basic construction tools and equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, or other specifications
- Cut, fit, install, repair, or replace glass or glass substitutes, in building interiors and exteriors
- Set glass doors into frames and attach doors to frames and walls
- Install pre-assembled frameworks for windows or doors to be fitted with glass panels
- Troubleshoot installation problems
- Load, arrange, and unload glass, mirrors, or other materials on to delivery trucks using suction cups or cranes
- Communicate with project managers, supervisors, and other staff regarding work progress
- Keep job sites clean and organized

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, plus limited overtime
Physical Demands

Minimum Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Introductory knowledge of electrical wiring & commercial construction safety
- Insurable driving record
- Additional, site specific, safety and security requirements, as defined by General Contractors and Clients
Preferred Education and Experience
- Experience working in commercial construction
- Leadership experience as demonstrated through supervisory functions or project management
- AAADM Certification in Auto Door Certifications
Supervisory Responsibility
This position is responsible for supervising the work of 2-4 Auto Door Technicians and Glaziers.
Work Environment
This job operates in closed commercial construction sites, active commercial businesses, as well manufacturing production and warehouse environments.
