Job Duties:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients’ functional abilities, including activities of daily living (ADLs), cognitive skills, and environmental factors, to develop individualized treatment plans
- Provide direct patient care, including therapeutic interventions, adaptive equipment assessments, and home safety evaluations
- Implement evidence-based occupational therapy techniques to improve patients’ independence, motor skills, sensory integration, and overall quality of life
- Collaborate with patients, families, and caregivers to establish goals and develop personalized treatment plans to meet their specific needs
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on compensatory strategies, energy conservation techniques, and the use of adaptive equipment to enhance functional abilities and maximize independence
- Monitor patients’ progress and adapt treatment plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes, documenting objective measurements and observations regularly
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team, including physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and speech therapists, to ensure holistic patient care
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of treatment sessions, progress notes, and other required paperwork in compliance with regulatory and reimbursement guidelines
- Stay updated with current research, evidence-based practices, and industry trends in occupational therapy through continuous professional development and training opportunities
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols during home visits, ensuring a safe environment for patients and minimizing risks
