Laboratory Screening Analyst (1st Shift)

Our Screening Team is searching for qualified Laboratory Screening Analyst (1st Shift) with personality, exceptional people skills and a positive attitude.

Position summary:

The Laboratory Analyst is responsible for the testing and processing of clinical/forensic toxicology samples.

Education requirements:

At a minimum, this position requires a bachelor’s degree in applied science.

Specific lab experience required:

  • Experience operating an immunoassay analyzer and reviewing data.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage controlled workflow in a fast paced testing environment.
  • Assist in troubleshooting of laboratory instruments.
  • Schedule routine and emergency service of instrument fleet including immunoassay analyzers.
  • Oversight of consumable inventory.
  • Use effective written and verbal communication skills to cooperatively work with customers and staff; communicate regularly and effectively with laboratory and operations staff.

  • Ability to handle a fast-paced and demanding lab environment.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with management, staff and clients both orally and in writing.
  • Strong reasoning ability in the identification of problems and the ability to draw conclusions and make responsible decisions.
  • The ability to utilize and/or develop connections within the scientific community and utilize these resources in the resolution of issues in the laboratory.

Work environment:

The Analyst may be required to work weekends, holidays and be on-call as business needs dictate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to infectious and hazardous chemicals as outlined in the Laboratory Safety Manual.
