Keystone Powdered Metal Company a world leader in the Powdered Metal Industry has an opening for a Press Operator at its Cherryville NC location. Since 1927 Keystone has pioneered many advancements in technology and products in the PM industry. Today Keystone is part of Sumitomo Electric’s Industrial Materials segment which has thirteen P/M companies located in nine different countries around the world. Keystone operates plants in St. Mary's and Lewis Run, Pennsylvania, Cherryville and Troutman North Carolina.
PURPOSE
TO OPERATE PRIMARY OPERATIONS EQUIPMENT - MOLDING.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
To efficiently and safely operate equipment, including the making of satisfactory adjustments to ensure product quality.
To know and follow procedures applicable to this job classification.
Legibly record and maintain applicable product/process information.
Effectively utilize measuring equipment and information obtained from its use to insure continuation of control conditions.
Provide active input to continuous process improvement.
Effectively communicate job related information to co-workers, supervisors, service areas and others with a need to know.
Maintain cooperative relationships with other functional areas.
Reliable, consistent attendance is a requirement and essential function of this position.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide assistance in writing new or revising old procedures.
Participate in the training of others and aid in their appraisal.
Perform other tasks as requested.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Able to read and understand procedures, process sheets, etc.
Able to do basic math calculations such as adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing.
Understand decimals, fractions, percentages, averages, etc.
Able to write legible sentences.
COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS
Operate and adjust required equipment properly.
Properly use measuring equipment and accurately interpret results.
Understand and apply SPC fundamentals.
Demonstrate effective writing skills with regards to appropriate records, reports and procedures.
Demonstrate satisfactory relational skills with regards to communications, cooperative associations and participation in continuous improvement.
Exhibit knowledge of applicable procedures.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
