Position Overview:
Keystone Retina is looking for a friendly and organized Medical Receptionist to be the first point of contact for our patients. In this role, you will handle a wide range of administrative and customer service tasks to ensure the office runs smoothly. You’ll play a crucial role in creating a welcoming and efficient environment for our patients and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and check in patients with professionalism and care.
- Schedule patient appointments, manage calendars, and ensure efficient use of physician time.
- Answer phone calls, address patient inquiries, and direct calls to the appropriate staff or departments.
- Verify patient information, update medical records, and ensure accurate data entry into the practice management system.
- Collect and process patient co-pays, payments, and insurance information.
- Assist with insurance verifications and authorizations.
- Maintain a clean and welcoming reception area.
- Coordinate with medical staff to ensure timely patient flow.
- Provide general office support, including filing, faxing, and organizing patient charts.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree or certification in medical office administration is a plus).
- Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred, especially ophthalmology or retina practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with patients and staff in a friendly and professional manner.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficient with office software, including MS Office and electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Knowledge of insurance billing, scheduling, and patient coordination is a plus.
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
