JOB SUMMARY

The Environmental, Health & Safety Manager establishes, implements and maintains processes and procedures to ensure US site compliance to the Keytronic EH&S Management System, and local, state and federal regulations.  Provides leadership, guidance and training to facility representatives to ensure a consistent, effective and efficient management system.

US Facility Environmental, Health, and Safety Responsibilities

  • Leads US facilities in the development, implementation and administration of environmental, health, and safety policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Provides US facilities guidance on local, state and federal environmental, health and safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules.
  • Provides US facilities guidance on ISO regulations associated with environmental, health and safety.
  • Leads US facilities in developing, implementing, and maintaining sustainability efforts to reduce, reuse and recycle waste and conserve energy and reduce consumption of natural resources.
  • Ensures all US facilities state and federal reporting requirements are met including hazardous waste, Toxic Release Inventory, and water and air quality.
  • Reviews US facility injury and illness investigations and corrective actions to identify systemic issues.  Advises facilities on trends and provides guidance on continuous improvement. 
  • Assists US facilities in the coordination of environmental, health, and safety training programs for employees and contractors.
  • Monitors US facility environmental, health, and safety key process indicators and metrics to ensure goals and objectives are being met.
  • Conducts periodic compliance obligation audits in US facilities.

Arkansas Environmental, Health, and Safety Responsibilities

  • Ensures all local, state, and federal reporting requirements are met.
  • Monitors activities where accidents could occur, halting any operation or activity that constitutes an imminent hazard to personnel or equipment.
  • Coordinates and leads the safety committee and emergency response team by providing training, and administrative support.
  • Conducts accident investigations and issues preventive and corrective actions for all reportable incidents.
  • Facilitates ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and sustainability compliance and/or certification programs.
  • Ensures all state and federal reporting requirements are met including hazardous waste, Toxic Release Inventory, and water and air quality.
  • Oversees process and equipment risk assessments to identify potential risks, engineering controls, and PPE requirements.
  • Establishes, measures and reports on key process indicators, metrics, goals and objectives through management review.
  • Provides environmental, health, and safety training to ensure employees and contractors are trained.
  • Conducts compliance obligation audits. 
  • Coordinates new chemical review and approval process, and manages the SDS database and binders.
  • Manages injury and illness investigations, data reporting and corrective actions.
  • Coordinates lockout/tagout, recycling, hot work, noise exposure, confined space, emergency response, and bloodborne pathogen programs.
  • Coordinates periodic fire, natural disaster and spill drills.
  • Other duties as required.
     

SUPERVISION GIVEN/RECEIVED

Is supervised by the Corporate Safety Manager and received direction from Senior Site Leaders. Manages employees within the Maintenance departments. 

Qualifications


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS  

  • Associates Degree in general studies a combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience in implementing and sustaining safety policies and programs.
  • Five (5) years experience with responsibility administering safety program and technical training.
  • Two (2) years experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment, e.g. ISO.
  • Proficient understanding of federal, state, and local safety rules and recordkeeping requirements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to collaborate with all levels of an organization.
  • Ability to gather, analyze, and report data.
  • Ability to interpret agency and industry regulations and make recommendations related to EH&S. 
  • Ability to write reports and to speak effectively before all levels of management and employees.
  • Must be a positive, energetic team player and an advocate for excellence.
  • Must be results oriented, a quick learner, able to multi-task, display a sense of urgency and show a strong track record of meeting deadlines.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelors Degree in Health and Safety related field
  • Ten (10) years administering safety program
  • Eight (8) years in a manufacturing environment

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, talk, hear, and see. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or reach with hands and arms. The environment is fast-paced; time pressured, and requires accuracy. The employee will regularly multi-task between projects, be required to move throughout the office building, and effectively communicate. 

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; and risk of electrical shock.    The noise level in the work environment varies from quiet to loud.
