The Enforcement Specialist within DHHL’s Enforcement Unit is responsible for ensuring compliance with DHHL program rules, regulations, and policies. This role involves responding to and resolving complaints, coordinating enforcement activities with relevant agencies, and monitoring land use compliance.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Complaint Response & Investigation: Address public inquiries and complaints, conduct investigations into trespassing and unauthorized land use, and communicate resolutions with stakeholders.
• Enforcement & Legal Coordination: Collaborate with law enforcement, legal counsel, and DHHL staff to serve eviction notices, remove trespassers, and support legal actions related to non-compliance.
• Reporting & Documentation: Prepare reports, memoranda, and enforcement-related correspondence, including drafting submittals for the Hawaiian Homes Commission.
• Land Management Support: Assist in planning temporary or long-term land use, facilitate permits and licenses, and coordinate with Land Management staff for land disposition.
• Field Inspections: Conduct field inspections to monitor compliance with lease agreements, recommend corrective actions, and ensure adherence to DHHL policies.
• This position plays a critical role in protecting Hawaiian Home Lands and ensuring the responsible use of DHHL-managed properties.

SALARY RANGE: $50,000 – $85,000 per year depending on experience
