The Interior Project Designer plays a key role in leading the development of creative concepts, overseeing design development, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the successful realization of the interior project scope. Interior Project Designers design interior environments that satisfy their clients' needs while conforming to the laws and regulations of the areas in which the projects are located. They will be responsible for leading and managing interior design projects from concept to completion, ensuring they meet client needs, are aesthetically appealing, and are executed within budget and timelines. The Interior Project Designer will work closely with clients, contractors, and vendors to deliver exceptional spaces.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree and or Master’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience required.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in an interior or architectural firm.
- Strong knowledge of design principles, color theory, space planning and material selection.
- Proficiency in design software such as Revit and complementing software (Sketchup, AutoCad, etc.) is preferred.
- Proficient in graphic software, preferably Adobe programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign.
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to multi-task projects and establish priorities potentially amongst multiple Project Managers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites, minimum Outlook, Office, Excel, and Powerpoint.
- Ability to develop and manage budgets and timelines. Working knowledge of Microsoft Projects is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills in a variety of forms - verbal, written, and interpersonal. Ability to execute professional written reports as well as oral presentation.
- Self-starter with initiative, strong follow through and ability to deliver on commitments.
- Highly creative and collaborative mindset.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision. Strong attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Constant and consistent communication and reporting to Project Managers.
- Reviewing contract requirements to understand deliverables under each phase.
- Coordination with client, subconsultants, and internal team.
- Strong vendor and client relationship management skills.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, objectives, deliverables and timelines for smaller projects and assist Project Managers for larger more complex projects.
- Conduct site visits.
- Attend project and office meetings as requested.
- Working knowledge of building codes, zoning laws, fire regulations, and other ordinances.
- Make necessary changes throughout the planning and design process.
- Research, plans, designs, and administers building projects for clients, applying knowledge of design, construction procedures, zoning and building codes.
- Materials: Consults with client to determine functional and spatial requirements of new structure or renovation, and prepares information regarding design, specifications, materials, color, equipment, estimated costs, and construction time.
- Preparing or overseeing the preparation of submission packages per the contract requirements.
- Reviewing and preparing or overseeing the preparation of permitting and bid packages.
- During construction, conducts periodic on-site observation of work to monitor compliance with plans and processing and filing of submittals and RFIs.
- Reviewing and preparing project closeout documents.
- May prepare assessments, due diligence studies, and reports
- Performs other duties as assigned.
LOCATION: Waipahu, HI
SALARY RANGE: $65,000 – 89,000 per year depending on experience
