POSITION OVERVIEW & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Senior Mechanical Designer plays a key role in the successful execution of projects for our Industrial, Process & Agribusiness Group. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, the Senior Mechanical Designer is responsible for industrial plant design (oil seed, ethanol, etc.), producing quality construction documents and coordinating design work with other engineering disciplines. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead a design team and lead other mechanical designers.
Specific responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following :
- Responsible for the creation of all industrial project drawings which include but are not limited to General Arrangements, PID's, 3D models, piping and Isometrics.
- Layout and design complete systems of assigned projects
- Coordinate work with internal and external stakeholders, providing technical support and work direction.
- Schedules and leads design meetings and leads drawing reviews.
- Plan field work needs in advance and go to jobsite prepared.
- Gather accurate information.
- Take ownership of your work. Bring tasks to finish line, asking questions or for assistance as needed.
- Effectively estimate hours and scope of work.
- Contributes to the creation of budgets and project schedules.
- Manages the preparation of drawing documents.
- Provides leadership and guides the efforts of other designers.
