Accountant

Responsibilities

Kforce's client, a local CPA firm in Paramus, NJ is seeking an Accountant to perform bookkeeping and taxes for a variety of clients in various industries. The role will be minimum 3 days in the office once trained. The Accountant is responsible for preparing mainly corporate, partnership, and some individual tax returns, and fiduciary returns. Key Tasks:

• Accountant will identify and execute tax planning opportunities
• Respond to IRS inquiries and tax notices
• Perform tax research on special projects as needed
• Deliver high quality service, while interacting and maintaining relationships with clients
• Work with Quick Books, and other accounting applications
• Prepare account analysis, bank and payroll reconciliations, and monthly journal entries
• Prepare trial balance, balance sheet and income statement reports
• As an Accountant, you will monitor and prepare monthly sales tax
• Client visits to perform accounting, tax and consulting services
• Mentor Interns

Requirements

• 1 to 3 years of public accounting tax or audit experience
• Experience preparing business entity taxes
• Experience in QuickBooks and Lacerte is a plus
• Strong communication is essential
• Must be able to travel to clients locally in NJ
  
  

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
