Kforce's client, a New Jersey based publicly traded corporation is seeking a Chief Accounting Officer. This will be a hybrid role located in the greater Morristown, NJ area. The CAO reports to the CFO and will play a key role in managing the company's accounting operations including overseeing multiple accounting and finance functions- the financial close, reporting, internal controls, and audit and tax processes. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review SEC filings, including Forms 10-Q and 10-K, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and SEC regulations
- Develop, maintain, and update company accounting policies
- Monitor new and proposed accounting and reporting standards
- Act as the primary liaison with external auditors
- Provide technical accounting guidance to senior management
- Participate in key governance meetings, including the Board of Directors' Audit Committee
Requirements
- CPA with 15 years of progressive experience in public accounting (Big 4 a plus) and industry, most recently as a CAO, Controller or Director in a publicly traded corp
- A strong hands-on approach to technical accounting and SEC reporting, in addition to overseeing general accounting (accounting close, financial reporting, and transactional accounting)
- Proven track record in leadership roles in complex environments
- Must have strong technical accounting expertise including strong technical proficiency with US GAAP & SEC Reporting/Regulations
- Excellent Interpersonal and leadership skills
- Experience with finance transformation efforts as a change agent to drive greater efficiencies

Salary : $300,000 - $360,000
