Chief Accounting Officer

Responsibilities

Kforce's client, a New Jersey based publicly traded corporation is seeking a Chief Accounting Officer. This will be a hybrid role located in the greater Morristown, NJ area. The CAO reports to the CFO and will play a key role in managing the company's accounting operations including overseeing multiple accounting and finance functions- the financial close, reporting, internal controls, and audit and tax processes. Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review SEC filings, including Forms 10-Q and 10-K, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and SEC regulations
• Develop, maintain, and update company accounting policies
• Monitor new and proposed accounting and reporting standards
• Act as the primary liaison with external auditors
• Provide technical accounting guidance to senior management
• Participate in key governance meetings, including the Board of Directors' Audit Committee

Requirements

• CPA with 15 years of progressive experience in public accounting (Big 4 a plus) and industry, most recently as a CAO, Controller or Director in a publicly traded corp
• A strong hands-on approach to technical accounting and SEC reporting, in addition to overseeing general accounting (accounting close, financial reporting, and transactional accounting)
• Proven track record in leadership roles in complex environments
• Must have strong technical accounting expertise including strong technical proficiency with US GAAP & SEC Reporting/Regulations
• Excellent Interpersonal and leadership skills
• Experience with finance transformation efforts as a change agent to drive greater efficiencies
  
  

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
