Cloud Security Engineer

Responsibilities

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer in Bothell, WA. Overview: We are seeking a Cloud Security Consultant to join a high-impact security enablement team focused on integrating Vault, Kubernetes, and Terraform across a containerized cloud-native environment. This consultant will work closely with infrastructure, DevOps, and application teams to ensure secure, automated deployments aligned to 5G Core standards and ASPR compliance. Key Responsibilities:

• Cloud Security Engineer will lead the secure integration of HashiCorp Vault into Kubernetes-based application environments
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform (Terraform Cloud)
• Implement and manage GitHub repositories, GitHub Actions, and automation pipelines
• Support secret management, PKI implementations, and dynamic secrets for databases
• As a Cloud Security Engineer, you will work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders across 60 application teams
• Serve as a security evangelist, educating developers and application teams on best practices
• Participate in architecture reviews and define secure-by-design principles for 5G Core services
  
  

Requirements

• 5 years in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Security Engineering
• Expertise in Kubernetes (K8s) administration and deployment
• Strong hands-on experience with Terraform, Go, and Python
• Experience working in Linux/UNIX environments
• Familiarity with GitHub Actions and automated pull request workflows
• Solid understanding of container security, encryption practices, and secret management
• Self-starter with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to mentor others and work independently with little oversight
  
  

Preferred

• Experience with HashiCorp Vault or other secret management platforms
• Exposure to 3GPP standards or 5G Core systems
• ASPR, MCLS, or PKI implementation experience
• Previous work in telecom, infrastructure, or compliance-heavy environments
  
  

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
