Kforce has a client in Irvine, CA that is looking for a Data Governance Officer (DGO). Duties:
- Data Governance Officer will be responsible for defining and implementing the Enterprise Data Governance Program
- Responsible for data analytics, governance, standards, quality, and lifecycle management along with the exploration of data assets to create business value
- Serves as a point of escalation for governance and data quality issues
- Builds and maintains collaborative partnership and alignment with business stakeholders, Information Security, and Information Technology to improve the quality and value of core data assets
- Partners closely with organization's Information Security and Information Technology leadership responsible for data storage, infrastructure, and security
- Bachelor's degree (BA) in related field or equivalent experience required; (MBA) in general Business, Computer Science, MIS, or Information Management preferred
- 7 years of experience required in data management with expertise and experience building, implementing, and maintaining data governance programs
- 3 years of experience in a senior management role, with transformation leadership experience
- Experience in banking or financial services
- Experience in managing data related documentation including requirement, data dictionary, data lineage, data control, and data quality key indicators
- Extensive knowledge of data governance practices, business and technology related to management of enterprise data assets required
- Knowledge of industry leading data quality and management practices
- Knowledge of data related government regulatory requirements and emerging trends and issues
- Knowledge of risk data architecture and technology solutions
- Working knowledge of data warehouse, data architecture and data reporting tools
- Comprehensive understanding of data compliance frameworks enabling technologies, and enterprise applications
- Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills required and ability to analyze and make effective, business-centric recommendations to business leaders and senior management
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, judgement and decision-making skills
- Strong information management, data analytics, and architecture skills including working knowledge of data infrastructure and various technology reporting platforms
- Ability to understand, research, analyze, interpret, and apply complex federal and state data laws, rules, regulations, and guidelines
- Ability to foster a culture that encourages awareness of data governance that ensures compliance with established policies and procedures across the enterprise
