Kforce has a client that is looking for a Remote Entry-Level RPG/Web Software Engineer that is located in Pacific or Mountain time zone. Interviews are being held August 22nd and 23rd and the position will start late August/early September. Overview: The RPG Developer I plays an important role in the organization by performing a number of activities related to the company's Information Technology functions. The role is primarily responsible, under general supervision, for assisting in the development and maintenance of applications on our IBMi. The RPG Developer I collaborates with Business Analysts to understand requested enhancements, and subsequently add/modify existing logic and database changes to achieve requested improvements to our systems. Duties:

Duties:
- After completing our training program, under the supervision of senior-level teammates, you will help develop and maintain current in-house software applications for existing systems using a variety of technical platforms and languages including Websmart (HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap, CSS), RPG Free and CLLE on an IBM System i platform
- Collaborate with Business Analysts, and/or senior-level teammates to develop complete specifications that capture impact of changes on all applications, systems, and databases
- Apply knowledge of data centric architecture, design, programming, and performance to help update programs and resolve problems
- Understand good database design and be able to create/modify database objects using DB2 native and SQL tools
- Apply knowledge and help manage projects using project management and change management software tools
- Demonstrate a high level of personal commitment and accountability to the business with a focus on quality and customer service
- Work in a team environment and communicate positively with team members, peers, customers, and vendors
- Provide time tracking and project feedback data to the Project Management Office and management
- Technical certification or degree in a related field either completed or in progress in Information Systems, Computer Science or related; Minimum 3.2 overall or Major GPA
- 0-1 year of Software engineering experience required
- Experience with Software development, analysis, design, and construction including application of modern modular software concepts and patterns
- Self-starter with the demonstrated ability to learn/adapt to new technologies and techniques
- Highly detail-oriented and organized
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment; Strong sense of urgency and responsiveness
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to think critically, including the ability to evaluate facts and data to draw conclusions, determine the downstream impact of decisions and associated risks
- Ethical, with a commitment to company values and focus on teamwork
- Career focused, driving for opportunities and growth within MIS
- General understanding of programming languages with web languages a plus

Salary : $60,000 - $75,000
