Firewall Engineer

Responsibilities

Kforce has a client in McLean, VA that is seeking a Firewall Engineer. Summary:

• Troubleshoot and analyze complex challenges for customers using your knowledge of Palo Alto firewalls and other security tools such as Splunk, Trellix, ACAS, and FireEye
• Directly impact a critical component and organizational mission within the intelligence community
• With mentoring, challenging hands-on problem-solving, and opportunities to learn new tools and skills, we focus on growing as a team to make the best solutions for our customers
• Work with us as we secure and protect our customer's mission space and bring the best of breed solutions to this client
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 10 years of experience with cybersecurity, information assurance, system engineering, computer science, information systems, engineering science, or engineering management, or Master's degree and 8 years of experience with cybersecurity, information assurance, system engineering, computer science, information systems, engineering science, or engineering management
• Experience deploying, maintaining, administrating, or integrating Firewalls, including Palo Alto
• Experience deploying, maintaining, or integrating using cybersecurity tools, including Splunk or Splunk Backend, Elastic, ACAS or Tenable Nessus, Cisco FirePower, FireEye NX, or Cylance
• Knowledge of security architecture design and integration
• Ability to integrate cybersecurity engineering principles into infrastructure planning, design, and deployment
• Ability to provide on-site, full-time support in a client environment
• Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
• Experience as a Linux system administrator
  
  

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
