This individual will perform operational and financial reviews of branch operations designed to add value to those branches through improved internal controls, mitigation of risk, and improving various operating efficiencies. Kforce is looking for an Internal Auditor for an opportunity with an organization in the Lenexa, KS area. This individual will perform operational and financial reviews of branch operations designed to add value to those branches through improved internal controls, mitigation of risk, and improving various operating efficiencies. Responsibilities:
- Internal Auditor will be working with Management on scheduling, planning, and executing operational, safety, and financial audits of branch operations
- Evaluating branch compliance with company policies and operating procedures
- Preparing written reports for branch/operations management, corporate finance and accounting management, and the Board of Directors
- Consulting with CFO, Operations Controllers, Regional Controllers and Operations Managers at various levels to assess business metrics, improve operational effectiveness, compliance, and overall profitability at the branch level
- As an Internal Auditor, you will be assisting in establishing and maintaining corporate policies and procedures
- Assisting in the year-end audit of the company's consolidated financial statements and employee benefit plans
- Assisting in performing due diligence on acquisitions
- Assisting Regional and Operations Controllers, Corporate Accounting, or Tax Department on special projects
- This position is safety-sensitive
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in operations, corporate accounting, public accounting, or internal auditing
- Robust communication skills, both written and oral that reflect confidence and subject matter expertise
- Ability to work effectively across an organization
- Demonstrate leadership qualities
- Must demonstrate perseverance and flexibility with the ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
- Strong ability and desire to build great relationships in order to garner trust and facilitate influence with stakeholders throughout the organization
- Robust personality with the ability to expand your sphere of expertise
- Ability to think strategically, assess control environment, identify key internal controls (or lack thereof) and effectively assess risk
- Demonstrates ownership of work product and accountability
- Demonstrates the ability to speak up, seek to understand and stand up for what is best for the organization
- Willing to travel approximately 20% annually
- CPA or CIA preferred
- Experience in the construction industry
