Software Engineering Manager - Cross-Platform Development Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and hands-on Software Engineering Manager to lead a team in designing and developing cross-platform libraries and tools that enable seamless device communication. The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.

- Collaborate with product managers, software engineers, firmware engineers, and designers to develop cross-platform (iOS, Android, macOS, Windows) libraries and tools for device communication via USB and Bluetooth (BLE and Classic)
- Lead the engineering team in developing new features, optimizing performance, and ensuring high code quality
- Define architecture, break down tasks, estimate timelines, and maintain development schedules
- Apply software engineering best practices, ensuring modular, scalable, and efficient application code
- Conduct code reviews, write unit and integration tests, and contribute to architectural planning and refactoring
- Drive adherence to best coding practices, ensuring maintainability and performance
- Provide mentorship, training, and career development opportunities for team members
- Oversee Agile/Scrum development processes, ensuring smooth execution of projects
- B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- 4 years of experience managing software engineering teams
- 5 years of experience in software development, with a track record of delivering successful products
- Proficiency in C, C , Kotlin, and Swift
- Expertise in USB and Bluetooth (Classic and BLE) communication protocols
- Experience developing Android, iOS, Windows, and macOS libraries/frameworks
- Strong understanding of CMake for cross-platform build processes
- Familiarity with package managers like npm, Maven, SwiftPM, etc.
- Hands-on experience with unit and integration testing
- Proficiency with Git in a collaborative development environment (e.g., pull requests, branching strategies)
- Experience with continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) tools, such as GitHub Actions
- Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Solid grasp of fundamental algorithms, data structures, and design patterns
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to evaluate alternatives and present strategic solutions
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- A proactive mindset with a passion for learning and adopting new technologies
