Kforce has a client in Evanston, IL that is seeking a LLM Engineer with a strong background in software development and expertise in LLM solutions. This role involves designing scalable software solutions, leading architecture design, and ensuring system performance and reliability. The ideal candidate will have experience working with Python, LLM patterns and tools (RAG, Vector DB, Agentic workflows, LoRA, etc.), cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and DevOps tools. The ideal candidate will have experience working with Python, LLM patterns and tools (RAG, Vector DB, Agentic workflows, LoRA, etc.), cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and DevOps tools. Responsibilities:
- Design and develop scalable, distributed software systems
- Translate business needs into technical requirements
- Lead technical execution, ensuring high-quality code, adherence to deadlines, and efficient resource use
- Utilize data-driven decision-making to align with product goals
- Build and deploy LLM-based pipelines using RAG, Agentic workflows, and PEFT techniques like LoRA and QLoRA
- Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, including analysis, design, coding, testing, and deployment
- Leverage cloud services (AWS, Azure) for IAM, monitoring, load balancing, autoscaling, storage, and networking
- Implement DevOps practices using tools like Docker and Kubernetes for CI/CD and automation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, conduct code reviews, and guide software design best practices
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
- At least 5 years of experience in software development, with relevant expertise in LLM applications
- Strong proficiency in Python and JavaScript
- Experience with API frameworks (FastAPI, Django) for both stateless and stateful applications
- Well-versed in web sockets, gRPC, and access management (JWT, Azure AD, IDM preferred)
- Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Front-end development experience (React JS, Next JS, Tailwind CSS) is a plus
- Expertise in LLM patterns like RAG, Vector DB, Hybrid Search, Agent development, and prompt engineering
- Experience with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, AWS Bedrock) and SDKs (LangChain, DSPy)
- Hands-on experience with DevOps tools including Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS services (Redshift, RDS, S3)
- Experience deploying applications at scale
- Strong understanding of security best practices and compliance with privacy regulations
- Familiarity with software engineering best practices, including version control (Git), DevOps (Azure DevOps preferred), and Agile methodologies
- Strong communication skills to convey technical concepts to a diverse audience
