Payroll Specialist

Responsibilities

Kforce's client, a 100 year old Banking Institution located in Orange County, NY, is in need of a Payroll Specialist. Summary: The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for generating bi-weekly payroll, process electronic time records, reconcile payroll with ledgers and operating budgets and produce applicable reports. They will assist with compensation, benefits, HR sponsored functions/events and ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal laws and regulations.

Requirements

• High School diploma/GED required; Associate degree, from an accredited institution, in Finance, Accounting or related field preferred
• 5 years of experience in administering ADP Workforce Now payroll
• 5 years of experience demonstrating a strong knowledge of payroll laws, taxes, accounting practices, wage and hour laws, employee benefits, etc.
• Experience in processing commissions, incentives, reimbursements and garnishments
• Experience in reconciliation of payroll with General Ledgers and operating budgets; producing reports
• Accounting experience preferred; certified payroll professional a plus
• Ability to work independently, have good decision making and judgment skills
  
  

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
