Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Accountant in Halethorpe, MD. Key Responsibilities:
- Senior Accountant will prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements, in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring proper recording and classification of transactions
- Perform reconciliations of general ledger accounts, including bank and intercompany accounts
- Assist with the preparation of tax filings, working closely with external tax consultants
- Monitor and ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
- As a Senior Accountant, you will assist in preparing annual budgets and forecasts
- Support audits by providing necessary financial documentation and responding to auditor inquiries
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure accurate recording of financial transactions
- Mentor and train junior accounting staff and provide guidance as needed
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting regulations, industry trends, and best practices
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Experience working in NetSuite ERP system
