Kforce has a client seeking a Senior Data Engineer for a remote role. Responsibilities:
- The Senior Data Engineer ingests data from internal and external sources utilizing cloud native platforms and software development best practices and patterns
- Develops software tools that leverage artificial intelligence, machine learning, and big-data techniques to cleanse, organize, and transform data into insights and actions that enables us to better serve our customers
- Begins to influence department's strategy
- Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction
- Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
- 5 or more years experience as a senior developer in large IT projects
- Data Engineering experience implementing data pipelines, data lakes, and data warehouses to support large-scale data processing and analytics
- Familiarity with ETL/ELT tools (i.e. Apache Airflow, Talend, Informatica), Big Data Tools (i.e. Apache Hadoop, Spark), Stream Processing (i.e. Kafka, AWS Kinesis, Azure Event Hubs, Apache Beam) and Data Orchestration tools
- Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Knowledge of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture and serverless computing
- Prior project lead experience
- Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Certifications in cloud technologies (i.e. AWS Certified Big Data, Azure Data Engineer Associate, GCP Data Engineer)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Familiarity with GraphQL schema design and implementation
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
