RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Departmental Applications Analyst in Los Angeles, CA.
Summary:
A large regional healthcare provider is seeking a Departmental Applications Analyst to support clinical and operational teams by maintaining reporting tools, managing departmental systems, and administering key healthcare applications. This role is essential to ensuring timely access to data, resolving user issues, and maintaining the continuity of departmental workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop, maintain, and deliver reports to support hospital operations, performance metrics, and regulatory needs
* Partner with clinical and administrative departments to understand evolving reporting and data access needs
* Serve as backup support for the MACS system, including basic administration, user access, and issue resolution
* Provide day-to-day administrative and technical support for departmental tools, including Midas
* Utilize administrator tools and internal systems to maintain, update, and troubleshoot applications
* Participate in cross-functional meetings with clinical, operational, and IT teams to improve system utilization
* Ensure reporting outputs and system documentation meet standards for data integrity, compliance (e.g., HIPAA), and audit readiness
* Identify opportunities to streamline workflows through automation or tool configuration improvements
* Assist in onboarding new users and conduct training for departmental stakeholders when needed
* Support audits, application upgrades, and vendor interactions for relevant systems
REQUIREMENTS:
* 3-5 years of experience in a healthcare IT support, applications analyst, or reporting analyst role
Hands-on experience with:
* Midas (for quality and risk reporting)
* MACS system (as either primary or backup support)
* Standard reporting tools (SQL-based reports, Excel-based reporting, or Crystal Reports)
* The ideal candidate will have strong reporting and administrative experience and a working knowledge of Midas and MACS
* Experience administering or supporting clinical or operational applications in a hospital setting
* Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical teams
* Solid understanding of HIPAA guidelines and data confidentiality requirements in healthcare
Preferred Qualifications:
* Familiarity with quality, safety, and risk management initiatives in hospitals
* Experience with performance improvement programs or regulatory reporting (e.g., CMS, Joint Commission)
* Training experience and ability to document user workflows or SOPs
* Previous exposure to Epic or other EMRs is a plus
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
