RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in San Antonio, TX that is seeking a Hadoop Administrator 2.
Key Responsibilities:
* Hadoop Administrator 2 will install, configure, and maintain Hadoop ecosystem components (HDFS, YARN, Hive, HBase, Spark, Oozie, Kafka, etc.)
* Monitor cluster performance and ensure system availability and reliability
* Implement and manage Hadoop security policies (Kerberos, Ranger, etc.)
* Perform cluster capacity planning and tuning
* Manage backup and disaster recovery strategies for big data platforms
* Automate routine cluster operations using scripting (Shell, Python, etc.)
* As a Hadoop Administrator 2, you will collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot and resolve cluster-related issues
* Apply patches and perform software upgrades as needed
* Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, changes, and procedures
* Stay current with Hadoop technologies and recommend improvements
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
* 3 years of experience as a Hadoop Administrator
* Experience with cluster monitoring tools (Ambari, Cloudera Manager, Nagios, etc.)
* Scripting experience with Bash, Python, or similar
* Strong understanding of Hadoop architecture and ecosystem components
* Familiarity with high availability and disaster recovery practices
* Proficiency in Linux system administration
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
