RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Mainframe Engineer in Durham, NC.
Duties:
* Working in CICS, DB2, VSAM, COBOL and JCL
* Java/J2EE or any web service application development
* Cloud computing environments and applications (AWS, Azure)
* Agile methodologies (Kanban, Scrum)
* Work with multiple teams in the organization globally
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's or any equivalent degree with Computer Science background
* 8 years of proven experience
* Strong programming skills with digital approach, and proficient Mainframe technology components including COBOL, DB2, VSAM, CICS
* Are data-driven and can measure, collect and use data to make decisions; We understand the value of intuition and the need to balance decisions accordingly
* Have good communication skills and technical expertise to drive and participate in significant discussions
* Some level of experience with architectural patterns of large or high-scale applications; We believe in applying the right technology depending on the challenge, and are always exploring new technologies to continually provide value to our customers
* Ability to blend development with testing by participating in quality efforts; We consider software quality is ensured through prevention rather than detection
* You have a passion for technology and can navigate your way across complex and rapidly changing landscapes by staying on top of latest trends and thrive by sharing knowledge
* Strong team player
* Some experience with API services development would be a nice to have
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
