RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Manual Quality Assurance in Charlotte, NC.
About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Functional QA Engineer to join our Quality Assurance team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in manual functional testing, API validation using Postman, solid SQL skills, and experience working in Agile development environments. You will work closely with developers, product managers, and other QA team members to ensure we deliver high-quality, reliable software to our users.
Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to review and understand requirements, acceptance criteria, and business logic
* Design and execute manual functional test cases based on user stories, requirements, and design documents
* Perform API testing using Postman, validating request/response accuracy, status codes, error handling, and performance
* Write and execute SQL queries to validate data integrity and perform backend testing
* Identify, document, and track bugs in a clear and concise manner using tools such as JIRA
* Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and demos
* Contribute to the QA process by suggesting improvements in test strategy and coverage
* Assist in creating and maintaining test documentation and regression test suites
REQUIREMENTS:
* 3-5 years of experience in software quality assurance or related field
* Strong knowledge of manual functional testing techniques and best practices
* Hands-on experience with API testing tools, particularly Postman
* Proficiency in SQL for data validation, debugging, and backend verification
* Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments
* Familiarity with issue tracking and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail)
* Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and QA methodologies
* Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and strong communication abilities
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
