RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce is seeking a qualified candidate for a direct hire position as a Robot Software Engineer II. This on-site role is based at our client's office in Lawrenceville, Pittsburgh, PA.
Summary:
The successful candidate will collaborate on developing algorithms and systems for robotic applications, including mapping, planning, localization, free space estimation, object detection, and sensor calibration. Working within a cross-functional Scrum team, the engineer will contribute to delivering high-quality software solutions that meet the evolving needs of users.
Key Responsibilities:
Software Development:
* Design and implement robust, efficient code for robotic systems using programming languages such as C or Python
* Develop algorithms for motion planning, perception, localization, and general autonomy
* Implement sensor data processing pipelines to interpret information from sensors like LiDAR and cameras
System Integration:
* Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, including hardware engineers, manufacturing, and quality assurance
* Configure robotic systems to ensure accurate and reliable operation
* Troubleshoot software-related issues on robotic systems
Testing and Validation:
* Design and execute comprehensive tests for robotic software applications
* Analyze test results to identify and resolve software defects
* Validate system performance in real-world scenarios
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
* Strong experience in software development skills, including design, debugging, documentation, and version control, using C and Python
* Experience with one or more robotics components: perception, localization, motion planning, or general autonomy
* Familiarity with Linux operating systems
* Excellent problem-solving and debugging abilities
* Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with key stakeholders
* Experience with sensor fusion and data processing techniques preferred

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
