Summary:
This role focuses on day-to-day network operations and troubleshooting, ensuring our LAN/WAN infrastructure is robust, secure, and continuously optimized. As part of a collaborative IT Operations team - which includes a network security engineer and system administrators - you will leverage your expertise to design, maintain, and enhance our network environment while providing mentorship to junior staff.
Responsibilities:
* Design, implement, and manage LAN/WAN infrastructures, including routing, switching, and wireless networks
* Collaborate with a dedicated IT Ops team, network security engineer, and system administrators in a dynamic and challenging environment
* Plan and execute network upgrades and expansions with minimal disruption to business operations
* Configure and maintain network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and other critical infrastructure
* Implement and manage network security solutions including firewalls (with a focus on Palo Alto), VPNs, and IDS/IPS systems
* Perform regular network monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization using tools like Logic Monitor, Heart Beat, and others
* Conduct regular network audits and security assessments to ensure compliance and optimal performance
* Document network architecture, configurations, and standard operating procedures
* Implement and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity protocols
* Work closely with cross-functional teams to resolve complex network issues
* Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior network staff
REQUIREMENTS:
* Certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, PCNSE) are a plus, though not required
* Expertise in routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP) and proficiency in VLANs, STP, VTP, and related switching technologies
* Hands-on experience with SD-WAN technologies (e.g., VeloCloud) and robust knowledge of network security principles
* High-level expertise in managing Palo Alto firewalls and related security configurations
* Experience with network monitoring and management tools; familiarity with QoS implementation and traffic engineering
* Strong understanding of IPv4 and IPv6 addressing and subnetting
* Experience with wireless network design and management
* Knowledge of network automation and infrastructure as code principles; proficiency in Python for automation and scripting
* Practical experience with VPN technologies, including IPsec and SSL VPN

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
