RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Cupertino, CA that is seeking a Sr. Product Design Engineer with an Electrical Engineering background and experience in Battery Management Systems & Design.
Responsibilities:
* Design BMU from concept to mass production focusing on detailed board level design
* The Senior Product Design Engineer will push the boundaries of technologies to maximize performance and minimize volume
* Collaborate with multi-functional partners (Product Design, System EE, Cell Engineering, Firmware, Algorithms, etc.) to ensure the product is developed on time and on budget
* Conduct investigations and prepare reports for problems or issues
* Develop Schematics and BOMs to satisfy the design requirements
* Develop layout guidelines for PCBs and guides Layout Engineers to meet all physical and electrical requirements of BMU
* Specify custom parts and PCBs for use in BMUs
* Analyze the design with simulation tools and calculations to verify its conformance to the requirements. (PSPICE, ANSYS, Verilog or equivalent)
* Conduct design validation on prototypes to implement the design
* The Senior Product Design Engineer will conduct design reviews, incorporate team feedback and release the design documents for builds
* Specify production test methods and limits and work with CM partners to realize design
REQUIREMENTS:
* BS and 3 years of relevant industry experience
* Experience in analog and/or power electronics design
* Schematic capture and PCB layout design for mixed signal boards (Cadence, Altium, Eagle etc.)
* Design validation of new silicon or prototype bring up
* Strong documentation and communication skills
* Proven track record working independently under high pressure and comfortable working in a dynamic environment
Preferred Qualifications:
* Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering preferred
* Strong EE fundamentals in electronic circuit design/development with microcontroller-based embedded systems
* Good knowledge of inter-module communications protocols (I2C, SMBus, SPMI, etc.)
* Experience with high volume manufacturing
* Knowledge of scripting (Python, Shell, Unix, MATLAB, etc.) for test automation and data analysis desired
* Self-starter with excellent time management skills and curious spirit
* Strong documentation and communication skills
* Proven track record working independently under high pressure and comfortable working in a dynamic environment
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
