RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a mid to senior SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA). This is a Remote (US-based) contract role.
Job Overview:
We are seeking a mid to senior-level SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and optimize SQL Server environments. This role involves database administration, performance tuning, high availability, backup/recovery, security, and database migrations.
Key Responsibilities
* Administer and maintain Microsoft SQL Server 2016, 2019, and 2022 environments
* Use Redgate and LogicMonitor for monitoring database performance and health
* Oversee SQL Server high availability, backup/recovery (via Cohesity), security, and database migrations
* Perform performance tuning and optimization, including Materialized Views, Data Compression, In-Memory OLTP, and Advanced Indexing
* Develop basic PowerShell scripts for automation and monitoring tasks
* Collaborate with system administrators who manage Linux and Windows OS (all SQL servers run on Windows)
* Support future improvements and adoption of advanced database features
REQUIREMENTS:
* 5-7 years of experience as a SQL Server DBA (mid to senior level)
* Experience working in a Windows-based SQL Server environment
* Ideal candidate will have experience with SQL Server 2016, 2019, and 2022
* Familiarity with Redgate tools and database monitoring solutions like LogicMonitor
* Expertise in Microsoft SQL Server administration and optimization
* Strong knowledge of SQL Server Clustering and high availability
* Basic PowerShell scripting for automation
* Exposure to cloud environments (Azure preferred but not required)
Nice-to-Have:
* Experience with advanced SQL Server features (Materialized Views, Data Compression, In-Memory OLTP, Advanced Indexing)
* Additional experience with Redgate tools for database automation and monitoring
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
