Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Quality Control Inspector located in Sterling, VA. The Quality Control Inspector will be responsible for daily inspection activities to ensure customer requirements and quality standards are met. The Quality Control Inspector will report to the Quality Assurance Manager and support manufacturing activities, including first article inspection, in-process inspection, and final inspection.
Essential Skills
- Interpret complex manufacturing drawings including limited dimension, model-based, and GD&T
- Understanding gauging and inspection equipment (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
- Select appropriate inspection equipment based on application
- Perform high-tolerance mechanical inspection
- Complete needed documentation including dimensional inspection reports
- Perform visual inspection to workmanship standards of Kform, customer, and MIL spec.
- Develop and follow quality plans including special control plans
- Maintain equipment calibration schedule
- Process return of Non-Conforming Material
- Perform root cause analysis using 5 Why
- Prioritize inspection activities relative to production schedule
General Skills
- Use computer with proficiency is essential
- Perform basic math including Algebra and Geometry
- Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication
- Demonstrate knowledge of manufacturing processes
- Operate as part of the K-Form manufacturing team
- Operate according to safety requirements
Extended Skills and Experience

- Demonstrate extensive knowledge of manufacturing
- Current ASQ Certified Quality Inspector or Certified Quality Technician
- Apply Statistical Process Control (SPC)
- Use 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
- Adapt to a changing prototype environment
- Work in a Lean environment
- Work in a AS9100 environment
- Complete AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR)
- Understanding of process measurement and improvement techniques

Salary
The position pays $25.00-$40.00 depending on experience. Kform offers additional advancement based on demonstrated proficiency.
