JOB TITLE: Shovel and Drill Maintenance Technician
DEPARTMENT: Mine Maintenance
LOCATION: Robinson Mine - Ruth, NV
PAY GRADE: N/A
POSITION REPORTS TO: Shovel and Drill Supervisor
ROTATING SHIFT: Yes
NONEXEMPT
Purpose & Scope of The Position:
Preform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, and execute repairs on mobile equipment in a manner which improves the safety, efficiency, and endurance of our fleet. Learn new things and teach others, so that we can improve as individuals and as a team. Perform other functions and duties assigned by the Supervisor while continuously aligning daily functions to reflect KGHM’s values.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintain hydraulic / electric mining shovels, loaders, and electric / diesel drills in a manner which improves the safety, efficiency, and availability of our fleet.
- Work and participate in a team environment.
- Uphold personal safety and the safety of coworkers.
- Learn new things, and teach others, so that we can improve as individuals and as a team.
- Complete work orders and service reports in a legible manner with necessary information.
- Possess the necessary tools within Tech level to perform necessary repairs.
- Have a willingness to work overtime and respond to call outs when required.
- May be required to work rotating shifts.
Required Education, Work Experience & Training:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- A valid Driver’s License.
Preferred Education, Work Experience & Training:
Strong mechanical ability and trouble-shooting skills.
Technical Skills:
- Ability to read and understand schematics, service manuals and parts books.
- Ability to operate all shop tools and equipment including Oxy-Acetylene, MIG and ARC welding equipment.
- Good written and verbal skills.
- Basic computer knowledge.

Additional Requirements:
- Successful completion of a pre-employment physical, including drug and alcohol testing.
- Ability to meet the required physical demands, including exerting 50-100 pounds of force occasionally and/or 25-50 pounds of force frequently and/or 10-20 pounds of force constantly.
