JOB TITLE: Shovel and Drill Maintenance Technician

DEPARTMENT: Mine Maintenance

LOCATION: Robinson Mine - Ruth, NV

PAY GRADE: N/A

POSITION REPORTS TO: Shovel and Drill Supervisor

ROTATING SHIFT: Yes

NONEXEMPT

Purpose & Scope of The Position:

Preform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, and execute repairs on mobile equipment in a manner which improves the safety, efficiency, and endurance of our fleet. Learn new things and teach others, so that we can improve as individuals and as a team. Perform other functions and duties assigned by the Supervisor while continuously aligning daily functions to reflect KGHM’s values.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Maintain hydraulic / electric mining shovels, loaders, and electric / diesel drills in a manner which improves the safety, efficiency, and availability of our fleet.
• Work and participate in a team environment.
• Uphold personal safety and the safety of coworkers.
• Learn new things, and teach others, so that we can improve as individuals and as a team.
• Complete work orders and service reports in a legible manner with necessary information.
• Possess the necessary tools within Tech level to perform necessary repairs.
• Have a willingness to work overtime and respond to call outs when required.
• May be required to work rotating shifts.

Required Education, Work Experience & Training:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• A valid Driver’s License.

Preferred Education, Work Experience & Training:

• Strong mechanical ability and trouble-shooting skills.

Technical Skills:

• Ability to read and understand schematics, service manuals and parts books.
• Ability to operate all shop tools and equipment including Oxy-Acetylene, MIG and ARC welding equipment.
• Good written and verbal skills.
• Basic computer knowledge.

Additional Requirements:

• Successful completion of a pre-employment physical, including drug and alcohol testing.
• Ability to meet the required physical demands, including exerting 50-100 pounds of force occasionally and/or 25-50 pounds of force frequently and/or 10-20 pounds of force constantly.
