JOB TITLE: Tailings Operations Technician
DEPARTMENT: Mill Processing
LOCATION: Robinson Mine - Ruth, NV
PAY GRADE: N/A
POSITION REPORTS TO: TSF Supervisor
ROTATING SHIFT: Yes ***5-5-4 Shift Rotation (Days & Nights)

Purpose & Scope of The Position:
Learn new things and teach others, so that we can improve as individuals and as a team. Demonstrate an ability and desire to upgrade skills and knowledge using on-the-job experience as well as off-the-job studies, as needed. This job requires working 12-hour shifts, working holidays, and working overtime. All RNMC employees are accountable for the safety of themselves as well as that of their coworkers. Perform other functions and duties as assigned by the Supervisor while continuously aligning daily functions to reflect KGHM’s values.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Follow safe work procedures and best practices.
- Maintain a clean work environment.
- Participate in cross training.
- Participate in meetings and crew discussions.
- Be a role model to other employees in safe behavior.
- Be willing and enthusiastic.
- Time management in assignments.
- Safe operation of the Tailings Storage Facility.
- Ability to learn and understand process flow of the Tailings Storage Facility.
- Good written and verbal skills.
- Positive attitude.
- Ability to prioritize, self-start, and work under limited supervision.
- Recommend safety improvements at the Tailings Storage Facility.
- Assist other departments as needed.
- Willingness to perform other duties as necessary to ensure the success of KGHM.
Required Education, Work Experience & Training:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Must have experience in operating mobile equipment.
- Experience in pumping systems.
- Ability to multitask in a high production environment.
- Must also be self-motivated, safety conscious, and be able to follow departmental and company policies and procedures.
- A valid Driver’s License.
Preferred Education, Work Experience & Training:
- One (1) year prior Operations experience desired but not required.
- Trade school or equivalent work experience.
Technical Skills:
- Mechanical ability.
- Troubleshooting skills.
- Basic competency in personal computer operation.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Programs.
- Ability to learn new software.

Additional Requirements:
- Successful completion of a pre-employment physical, including drug and alcohol testing.
- Ability to meet the required physical demands, including exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly.
