The Pole Fielding Application Project Manager will manage field surveys and assessments for fiber optic network deployment. This role involves managing utility poles inspections, documenting existing infrastructure, and determining the feasibility of attaching fiber optic cables. The ideal candidate will have experience in utility fieldwork, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in outdoor environments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Manage field surveys of utility poles for fiber optic installations.
- Drive pole application project end to end.
- Assess pole conditions, clearance requirements, and load capacity.
- Document pole data, including height, attachments, and ownership.
- Capture and interpret measurements using field tools and GPS technology.
- Identify and report potential obstacles such as right-of-way issues or clearance conflicts.
- Work closely with engineers, permitting teams, and utility companies.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., NESC, local regulations).
- Maintain accurate records and submit detailed reports.
- Adhere to safety protocols while working in various weather conditions.
Requirements:
- Experience in utility fieldwork, telecommunications, or a related
- Familiar with SPIDAMin tool
- Familiarity with NESC (National Electrical Safety Code) and pole attachment regulations.
- 2 years of experience leading a team and client management
- Expert in dashboards and reporting
- Ability to read maps, construction drawings, and utility schematics.
- Strong observational and data collection skills.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to different locations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience with fiber optic network deployments.
- Knowledge of permitting and pole attachment processes.
- Certification in aerial or utility pole safety training.
- Experience using field survey equipment, GPS, and mobile data collection apps is a plus.
